As Michael is leaving his office late one evening, he is abducted by one of the higher-ups of CareVale, a health insurer that is making major inroads into the University's healthcare system. His disappearance throws his wife, Anna, and his mother, Kiran, into a frenzy. Mark Vincent, Captain of Homicide, forms a team at the sheriff's department to search for the missing surgeon, but he cannot be found. The days pass and despair sets in. Sam Choudhry, Anna's boss, is despondent at the real possibility that his best friend is dead. Mia is away at music camp and Anna knows she needs to tell her daughter that her dad is missing, once the girl comes home. Anna remains hopeful throughout it all, but as the days pass, her hope dims.
